Prayer for London

The London Baptist Association is encouraging churches to pray for what is happening in our capital city with the increase in knife and gun crime and has provided these prayer points which you may find useful in your home group and personal prayers ...

  • Pray for the young people caught up in these horrendous atrocities, that they will have a change of heart. It has come to our attention that the gangs involved are seeing attacking and murdering someone as scoring points against the other gangs, whether this be actual gang members or an innocent person in a different post code.
  • Pray for families who have lost a son or daughter, brother or sister, that God will bring comfort to them.
  • Pray for families that God will grant courage, parental skills and the support necessary to help our young people. One ex-gang member has highlighted the lack of fathers or male role models as a serious factor to consider in these matters.
  • Pray for the MET police who are overstretched at this time.
  • Pray for Sadiq Khan and other politicians that they will not politicize this matter, but will act with the grace and compassion that is needed.
  • Pray for ourselves that God will use us to reach these young people. You may know a young person on your estate or in your local community that needs extra encouragement. God has placed you in your community to make a difference.
  • Pray that the church will work together with the government, local councils and other agencies to bring change.
  • Pray that the Word of God will be 'preached' in ways that are relevant so that His Word will change people. Many young people have no true understanding of the Bible and its relevance to us today; this is why we see many young people living with no clue of their purpose and identity.
  • Prayer for Exams

    education

Please pray for our young people preparing for their GCSE, AS & A Level exams, some starting this week. Please also pray for those taking end of year exams or vocational assessments at school, college or uni.

    Prayer for the street

    prayer for the street

This is an organised initiative for us to gather the needs and requests of our community and pray for them on a monthly basis.

House to house visits are generally made on the 3rd Sunday of each month, with the resulting prayer requests brought before the church service on the following Sunday morning. Our next visits will be on
    Sunday 20th May 2018 at 3:00pm.

Please contact us if you would like to be involved.
